In the printing industry, method to create a three-dimensional effect on paper/card is called Emboss effect. Mostly, logos and/or another graphic/text can all be eye-catching by the embossing method. Embossing reflected as a raised surface, with the design higher than the other background of the paper. Embossing process is a cost-effective and simple to enhancing the look and texture of the card/paper.

For the embossing a logo / graphic on the card sheet, printer has to develop a well etched metal block / male-female die. Simply pressing on the card using simple machine the logo / graphic will take embossed effect. To make the process without block or die, sometimes the screen-printers are applying repeat and repeat printing using thick ink on a single logo / graphic. So, it will raise the surface of the printed are from the paper background. It’s also known as a raise printing.

Embossing process works well on the hard / tough card sheets. Method of the embossing currently also used in the textile industry using other process to emboss the graphic on the clothes.
