Colours print wrong compared with the screen
Prints that look too warm, too dark or oddly tinted are usually a paper-type or colour-setting mismatch.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Photos come out orange or blue
- Prints darker than the screen
- Greys have a colour cast
02 · Resolve — follow in order

Set the paper type in the print dialog to exactly the paper you loaded — this changes how much ink is laid down.

Choose the standard colour setting rather than Vivid unless you want the boost.

Run a nozzle check; a partly blocked colour shifts the whole balance.

Turn your screen brightness down a little — screens are usually brighter than paper can ever be.

Print the same photo on Canon photo paper as a reference before judging the printer.
Pro tip
Prints often dry slightly darker; judge a photo after about ten minutes, not straight off the tray.
