Fix air in EcoTank ink lines
Ran a tank dry? Air bubbles in the ink lines cause sudden streaks and missing colors. A Power Cleaning after refilling pulls the air out.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Streaks or blank color right after a tank ran empty
- Tank is full but the nozzle check is blank
- Problems started after a refill
02 · Resolve — follow in order
- 1
Refill the low tank first — never troubleshoot air with an empty tank.
- 2
Wait 30 minutes after refilling so ink settles into the lines.
- 3
Run one Power Cleaning from Settings → Maintenance (this uses a lot of ink — that's normal).
- 4
Print a nozzle check. If there are still gaps, wait 12 hours and run one more Power Cleaning.
- 5
Resume normal printing; minor remaining gaps usually clear within a day of normal use.
Pro tip
Never let an EcoTank run visibly empty. Refill at the lower line — preventing air is far cheaper than the ink a Power Cleaning consumes.
