01 · Identify — does this match what you see?

• Smudges along one edge
• Marks on the reverse side
• Heavy ink areas rub off

02 · Resolve — follow in order

1. 1

   Run the Bottom Plate Cleaning routine from the maintenance menu — it wipes the surface the paper passes over.

2. 2

   Use fresh, flat paper; curled sheets rub against the printhead.

3. 3

   Set the paper type correctly so the printer uses the right drying time.

4. 4

   For heavy colour pages, turn on the extra drying-time option in the driver's advanced settings.

5. 5

   Let pages sit for a minute before stacking them.
