PUR (Polyurethane Reactive adhesive) binding is a form of perfect binding. In this type of binding, the inner pages and title cover of the book are fixed with glue at the spine and all other sides are trimmed to give a perfect edge.
In the printing industry, a part of book binding, the spine of the gathered printed sheets is inserted into a title using adhesive to hold the pages with title together. This method is also called as perfect binding.
Today, the sewn binding is more advance binding method than perfect binding. In this process pages of the book are sewn together into a single block before being glued to the cover. The pages are sewn using cotton, hemp, linen or synthetic thread.
