Metals for Platemaking
Basic needed metals for the platemaking :
Metals are the essential materials widely used for platemaking in printing industry. Their importance to the printer rests on the fact that in most cases printing ink is applied from a metal surface (e.g. copper or zinc plates, type alloys) and that in some cases printing ink is applied to a metal surface (e.g. aluminium foil, tin plate).
Essintials for the selection of metals for platemaking :
In general, the metal suitable for platemaking is the one, which is malleable, with good wear resistance and strength and a suitably fine grain structure and is of reasonable cost. Other essential properties may include good thermal stability and ability to be easily etched.
Metals like aluminium, copper, zinc and magnesium which have proved them as the most suitable for platemaking. The thin layers of the metals like nickel and chromium are sometimes electroplated on to a printing plate to improve its wear resistance.
Started our journey in 1986 with Screen Printing, and continue developing with innovations like four color CMYK Printing in this type of manual/hand print process. Also print on any material and surface like Metal, Plastic, Acrylic, Glass and much more. We were also famous for the stickers gumming those decades.
