Improve faint or dark copies
Copies come out too light or too dark. The contrast setting on the panel controls this — adjust it once and the printer remembers it.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Copies look washed out
- Copies are solid black or too dark
- Prints are fine but copies aren't
02 · Resolve — follow in order

Place an original on the glass and go to Copy on the panel.

Choose “Quality” or “Contrast” in the copy settings.

Increase contrast for faint copies; decrease for overly dark ones.

If your model has a density setting, set it to Medium as a baseline.
- 5
Press Start to copy and confirm the result; tweak and copy again until right.
Pro tip
Faint copies on a laser are often a low-toner symptom, not a copy setting. Check a print first — if prints are also faint, fix the toner, not the contrast.
