Get your Brother back online
Windows or your phone says the Brother printer is offline, but it's powered on. This is almost always a stuck print queue, a wrong port, or a dropped Wi-Fi link — all quick to clear.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Computer shows the printer as “Offline” or “Not connected”
- Print jobs sit in the queue and never print
- It worked yesterday and nothing changed
02 · Resolve — follow in order

Wake the printer. If the screen is dark, tap it or press Power once and wait 30 seconds.

Check the Wi-Fi icon on the panel. A solid bar icon means connected; an empty/exclamation icon means it has dropped your network.

On Windows, open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers, click your Brother → Open queue, and cancel every pending job.

Select “Use Printer Offline” and turn it OFF if it's checked, then try a single test page.

If it stays offline, restart the router first, then the printer. A dropped DHCP lease is the most common cause.
Pro tip
On a Wi-Fi model, print the Network Configuration page from the panel (Menu → Print Reports → Network Config). If the IP starts with 169.254.x.x, the printer never reached your router — reboot the router before changing any printer setting.
