Connect your Canon to Wi-Fi
First-time setup or a new router? Use the printer's Easy Wireless Connect mode to join your home network without a cable.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- New printer that has never joined your network
- You changed routers or Wi-Fi passwords
- The Wi-Fi lamp blinks and never goes steady
02 · Resolve — follow in order
- 1
On the printer, press and hold the Wi-Fi button until the power lamp flashes once, then release.
- 2
Press the Color button, then the Wi-Fi button again. The Wi-Fi lamp should now flash quickly — this is Easy Wireless Connect mode.
- 3
On your phone or computer, open the Canon PRINT app (or the setup page at ij.start.canon) and choose “Set up a new printer”.
- 4
Select your home Wi-Fi network and enter the password when asked.
- 5
Wait for the Wi-Fi lamp to turn steady blue, then print a test page to confirm.
Pro tip
Most Canon printers only join 2.4 GHz networks. If your router combines bands under one name, that's fine — but a 5 GHz-only network will never appear.
