Scan straight to a USB drive

Skip the computer entirely — plug a USB stick into the printer and scan directly to it. Great when the PC is off or you're in a hurry.

01 · Identify — does this match what you see?

  • You want a scan without opening a computer
  • No PC handy near the printer
  • Scan-to-PC isn't set up yet

02 · Resolve — follow in order

  1. 1

Plug a FAT32-formatted USB drive into the printer's USB port (front or side).

  2. 2

On the panel, go to Scan → Scan to USB.

  3. 3

Place the page face-down on the glass and press Start.

  4. 4

Wait for “Scan Complete,” then remove the USB drive safely.

  5. 5

Plug the USB into any computer to find a PDF or JPEG of the scan.

Pro tip

If the panel says “USB Not Detected,” the drive may be NTFS or exFAT. Reformat it to FAT32 (MS-DOS format) on a Mac or Windows, then try again.
