Brother can't find your Wi-Fi network
The setup wizard lists every neighbour's network except yours. It's usually a band or channel mismatch — the printer only sees one of them.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Your network doesn't appear in the scan list
- Neighbours' networks show up fine
- Setup worked on an old router but not the new one
02 · Resolve — follow in order

Confirm the printer supports 2.4 GHz — most Brother home models do not see 5 GHz-only networks.

If your router hides the network name (SSID broadcast off), switch it on during setup, or type the name manually in the wizard.

Move the printer within 3 metres of the router for the first connection; you can move it back later.

Check the router isn't using an exotic channel (12, 13). Set it to Auto or 1–11.

After joining, print the Network Configuration page to confirm the printer holds a valid IP.
Pro tip
Mesh systems that combine 2.4 and 5 GHz under one name sometimes confuse the setup wizard. Temporarily rename the 2.4 GHz band, connect the printer, then rename it back.
