Reconnect after changing your Wi-Fi password

The printer keeps the old password and silently drops off. Re-running the wireless setup takes a few minutes.

01 · Identify — does this match what you see?

  • Printer went offline after a router change
  • Wi-Fi lamp blinks and never settles
  • Everything else reconnected fine

02 · Resolve — follow in order

  1. 1

On the printer, open the network settings and choose Wireless LAN setup.

  2. 2

Select your network name from the list.

  3. 3

Enter the new password exactly, watching for case and spaces.

  4. 4

Wait for the Wi-Fi lamp to go steady.

  5. 5

On your computer, delete and re-add the printer if it still shows offline.

Pro tip

Keep the same network name when replacing a router and most devices, including the printer, reconnect on their own.
