Easy · 5 minPaper & feeding
Stop the printer pulling two sheets at once
Multiple sheets feeding together usually comes from static, humidity, or an overfilled tray rather than a mechanical fault.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Two or more sheets grabbed per job
- Blank pages between printed ones
- Frequent jam warnings
02 · Resolve — follow in order
- 1
Remove the stack and fan it thoroughly along both long edges.
- 2
Reduce the stack to half a ream or less.
- 3
Square the stack on a flat surface and reload it, then set the guides to just touch the edges.
- 4
Avoid mixing old and new paper in one stack.
- 5
Store paper flat in its wrapper, away from damp rooms.
Pro tip
Paper that has sat in a humid room curls at the edges and sticks. A fresh ream often fixes double feeding instantly.
