Printer will not pick up paper at all
When the rollers spin but nothing moves, the rubber has usually gone glossy with paper dust and lost its grip.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Rollers turn but paper stays put
- “No paper” error with a full tray
- Only works if you push the sheet in
02 · Resolve — follow in order
- 1
Power off and unplug the printer.
- 2
Locate the grey feed rollers in the rear tray or above the cassette.
- 3
Dampen a lint-free cloth with water and wipe each roller while turning it by hand.
- 4
Let the rollers dry for ten minutes before reloading paper.
- 5
If your model has a roller cleaning routine in the maintenance menu, run it twice.
Pro tip
Clean rollers every few reams if you print often — it is the single most effective jam prevention there is.
