Fix an Epson that shows offline

Your Epson prints nothing and the computer says it's offline. Nine times out of ten it's a paused queue or a dropped Wi-Fi link — both quick to fix.

01 · Identify — does this match what you see?

  • Windows or Mac shows the Epson as “Offline”
  • Jobs sit in the queue and never print
  • Worked fine until the router restarted

02 · Resolve — follow in order

  1. 1

Wake the printer and confirm the Wi-Fi icon on the screen is solid, not blinking or crossed out.

  2. 2

On your computer, open the print queue, cancel every job, and uncheck “Use Printer Offline” if it's ticked.

  3. 3

Restart the router first, then the printer, and wait two minutes.

  4. 4

Print a status sheet from the printer's Setup menu to confirm it has a valid IP address.

  5. 5

If it still shows offline, remove the printer from your computer and add it again with the Epson installer.

Pro tip

If the printer got a new IP address after a router restart, your computer is still looking at the old one — re-adding the printer fixes it instantly.
