Print with Wireless Direct, no router
Wireless Direct turns the printer into its own hotspot so you can print when the home network is down.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Router is offline
- No Wi-Fi available at the location
- Guest needs to print once
02 · Resolve — follow in order

On the printer, open the network menu and enable Wireless Direct.

Note the network name and password shown on the printer display.

On your phone, join that network from the Wi-Fi list.

Open the Canon PRINT app or your document and print as normal.
- 5
Rejoin your usual Wi-Fi afterwards and disable Wireless Direct if you do not need it.
Pro tip
While connected to Wireless Direct your phone has no internet, so open the document before switching networks.
