Print borderless photos (inkjet)

Borderless printing fills the whole sheet edge-to-edge — ideal for photos. It only works on supported photo paper sizes on inkjet models.

01 · Identify — does this match what you see?

  • White border around photos you want edge-to-edge
  • You want to print full-bleed 4×6 photos
  • 'Borderless' option is missing

02 · Resolve — follow in order

  1. 1

Load photo paper in the tray, glossy side down, aligned to the guides.

  2. 2

In the print dialog, open the Brother Preferences and find the Paper tab.

  3. 3

Set Paper Type to “Brother Photo” or “Other Photo Paper”.

  4. 4

Enable “Borderless” under the Layout or Advanced section.

  5. 5

Print — the printer extends ink past the page edge into an absorbent overflow area.

Pro tip

Borderless printing uses more ink and only works on specific paper sizes (usually 4×6, A4). Plain-paper borderless isn't supported — you'd get ink smearing off the edge.
