Clean the corona wire
A grey vertical streak or one-sided fade on a laser is often a dirty corona wire. Slide the green tab a few times — it's a 30-second fix.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Faint print down one side of the page
- Grey background streaks vertically
- Print fades after the printer sat unused
02 · Resolve — follow in order

Open the front cover and remove the drum-and-toner assembly.

Find the green tab on the drum unit (top edge). Slide it left to right and back 6–7 times.

Return the tab firmly to its home (marked) position — a centred tab causes a permanent streak.

Reinstall the assembly and close the cover.
- 5
Print a test page to confirm the fade/streak is gone.
Pro tip
Make this part of every toner change. One minute of sliding the tab saves a service call and a page of complaint prints.
