'Replace Drum' / 'Drum End Soon' explained
The drum is separate from the toner on a Brother laser. “Drum End Soon” is a warning; “Replace Drum” means it's at the end of its rated life. You can keep printing and reset the counter after a real swap.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- “Drum End Soon” on the panel
- “Replace Drum” with repeating marks down the page
- You just installed a new drum and the message persists
02 · Resolve — follow in order

Confirm it's the drum, not toner: repeating black spots or streaks every ~94 mm mean a worn drum surface.

Open the front cover, pull out the drum-and-toner assembly, and separate the toner from the drum.

Install the new drum unit and reassemble toner+drum, then slide it fully in.

Reset the drum counter: with the front cover open, hold “OK” or “Clear” until the menu shows the drum, then confirm “Yes”.

Close the cover and print a test page to confirm the streaks are gone.
Pro tip
The drum counter is just a page counter — resetting it without a new drum hides the warning but doesn't fix a worn surface. Only reset after you actually install a new drum.
