Resolve the B200 printhead error
B200 means the printer can't drive the print head correctly — often dried ink or a poorly seated cartridge, not a dead printer. Try this before replacing anything.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- “B200” or “Support Code B200” on screen
- Alarm and power lamps flash alternately
- Printer refuses to print, copy, or scan
02 · Resolve — follow in order
- 1
Turn the printer off, unplug it, and wait two full minutes.
- 2
Open the cover so the cartridge carrier moves to the middle, then remove every ink cartridge.
- 3
Lift the gray lever and remove the print head. Rinse its gold contacts gently with warm distilled water and let it air-dry completely.
- 4
Reseat the print head, lock the lever, and reinstall the cartridges until each one clicks.
- 5
Close the cover, plug in, and power on. Run a nozzle check from the maintenance menu.
Pro tip
If B200 returns after cleaning, the head itself may have failed — replacement heads for PIXMA models often cost less than a new printer.
