Fix laser unit error E51
E51 indicates the laser unit isn't communicating. Usually a loose connector after a move or a service panel left open.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- “Laser Unit Error” or “E51” on the panel
- Pages come out completely blank (no toner image)
- Printer recently moved or was serviced
02 · Resolve — follow in order

Unplug the printer and remove the toner and drum unit.

Open the side cover (right side) and check the multi-pin connector to the laser unit is seated firmly.

Reconnect if loose; push until you feel it click.
- 4
Reseat the drum and toner, close all covers, and power on.
- 5
If E51 persists, the laser scanner motor has failed and the unit needs service.
Pro tip
A completely blank page (not faint — truly blank) almost always points to the laser unit or a drum contact, never to “low toner.”
