Factory reset your Brother
A factory reset clears all settings — Wi-Fi, date, dial codes — back to default. Use it when nothing else clears a stubborn error or before passing the printer on.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Settings are corrupted and you want a clean slate
- Printer won't connect after many config attempts
- You're giving the printer away
02 · Resolve — follow in order

Note your Wi-Fi name and password — you'll need to re-enter them after.

On the panel, go to Menu → Initial Setup → Reset (or Settings → All Settings → Initial Setup → Reset).

Choose “All Settings” or “Factory Reset” and confirm with Yes.

The printer restarts to the first-time setup screen.

Re-run the wireless setup wizard and reinstall the driver if needed.
Pro tip
Reset clears Wi-Fi but keeps the page counters (drum/toner). If you wanted to clear those, reset them individually before or after the factory reset.
