Print from Android

Android has a built-in print service, but installing Brother's service adds full Brother features. Either way, printing from a phone is a few taps.

01 · Identify — does this match what you see?

  • You want to print from an Android phone
  • Built-in print service lacks options
  • Phone can't find the printer

02 · Resolve — follow in order

  1. 1

Install the Brother Print Service plugin from the Play Store, or the Brother iPrint&Scan app.

  2. 2

On the phone, go to Settings → Connected devices → Connection preferences → Printing → Brother Print Service, and turn it on.

  3. 3

Open the file or photo, tap the share/print menu, and select your Brother.

  4. 4

Adjust copies, paper size, or colour as needed, then tap the print icon.

  5. 5

Pick up the page from the printer when it finishes.

Pro tip

If the printer still doesn't show, open the Brother app once and let it scan the network — it caches the printer so it appears in the system print dialog afterwards.
