Turn Quiet Mode on or off
Quiet Mode slows the printer and dampens the noise. Turn it on for a sleeping household, off when speed matters.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Printer is loud at night
- Printing is slow and you suspect Quiet Mode
- You want quieter operation
02 · Resolve — follow in order

On the panel, go to Menu → General Setup → Ecology → Quiet Mode.

Choose On to slow and quiet the printer, or Off for normal speed.

Confirm with OK and print a test page.

Note: Quiet Mode roughly doubles print time — turn it off for multi-page jobs.

On some models, Quiet Mode also dims the cooling fan, so the printer stays warm longer.
Pro tip
Draft + Quiet Mode together is almost silent but quite slow. Use it for late-night single-page jobs, then switch both off for daytime batches.
