Set the date and time

Fax logs, scan timestamps, and scheduled jobs all rely on the clock. After a power loss or reset, the date and time need re-entering.

01 · Identify — does this match what you see?

  • Timestamps on faxes and scans are wrong
  • Clock shows 00:00 after a long power cut
  • Scheduled print/scan jobs fire at the wrong time

02 · Resolve — follow in order

  1. 1

On the panel, go to Menu → General Setup → Date&Time.

  2. 2

Enter the year, month, day, hour, and minute using the keypad or touchscreen.

  3. 3

Set the time zone if your model offers it.

  4. 4

Choose 12-hour or 24-hour display under “Date Format” if available.

  5. 5

Confirm with OK — the panel clock updates immediately.

Pro tip

If the clock keeps resetting after short power cuts, the internal backup battery (CR2032 on many models) is dead. Replace it so settings survive an outage.
