Adjust or disable sleep mode
The printer goes to sleep and then won't wake over Wi-Fi. Either lengthen the sleep timer or turn off deep sleep so it stays reachable.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- First print after idle fails or is slow
- Printer shows “Sleep” and won't respond
- Wi-Fi drops after long idle
02 · Resolve — follow in order
- 1
On the panel, go to Menu → General Setup → Ecology → Sleep Time.
- 2
Increase the timer (e.g. to 30 or 60 minutes) if the printer sleeps too fast.
- 3
To keep it always reachable, set “Auto Power Off” to Off and reduce deep-sleep depth if offered.
- 4
If Wi-Fi still drops, set a static IP reservation in your router so reconnects are instant.
- 5
Test by letting it idle 10 minutes, then print from your phone.
Pro tip
Deep sleep (vs light sleep) is what kills Wi-Fi reachability. If your model has a “Power Save” vs “Deep Sleep” toggle, choose Power Save to stay on the network.
