Speed up a slow Epson printer
Slow output is usually a quality setting, not a fault. Draft mode, plain-paper settings, and a strong Wi-Fi signal make a dramatic difference.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?

02 · Resolve — follow in order

In the print dialog, set Quality to “Standard” or “Draft” for everyday documents.

Confirm the paper type setting matches the loaded paper — “Photo paper” forces slow, high-quality passes.

Turn off “High Speed” off/on toggles only if banding appears; high-speed mode is fine for most text.

On Wi-Fi, move the printer closer to the router — weak signal stalls big jobs mid-page.

Update firmware; several Epson updates specifically improved print speed.
Pro tip
Two-sided (duplex) printing roughly doubles time per page. For long drafts, print single-sided, then copy to duplex if needed.
