Deal with the Epson “waste ink pad full” error
When the ink absorber pads fill up, the printer stops to prevent overflow. The pads need replacing and the internal counter needs resetting.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- “A printer's ink pad is at the end of its service life” message
- Two red lights flashing alternately
- Printer refuses all jobs
02 · Resolve — follow in order

Understand what's happening: every cleaning cycle flushes ink into absorbent pads; the printer counts the flushes.

Order the replacement pad kit for your exact model (EcoTank and WorkForce kits differ).

Contact Epson support — in many regions Epson provides the official reset utility and instructions.

Physically replace the pads: they're a foam block under the print engine, accessed from the rear or base.

Reset the waste-ink counter with the official utility, then run a test print.
Pro tip
Resetting the counter without replacing the pads risks real ink overflow inside the printer — always do both together.
