Fix the 1660 cartridge not installed error
1660 means a slot is reading as empty. Usually the cartridge is in the wrong bay or not clicked down.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- “1660” with a cartridge icon
- One colour shows a red X on screen
02 · Resolve — follow in order

Open the cover and look at which slot is flagged.

Confirm the black PG cartridge is on the correct side and the colour CL cartridge on the other.

Press the cartridge down until you hear an audible click.

Close the cover and wait for the printer to re-scan the cartridges.
- 5
If the slot stays flagged, clean its contacts with a dry cloth and retry.
Pro tip
Some models flag 1660 while the cover is simply not fully closed. Press the lid down firmly at both corners.
