Fix support code 6000
6000 means the printer cannot feed paper or detects an obstruction in the paper path. Usually debris or a mis-set tray.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- “6000” on screen
- Carriage does not move
- Printer clicks then stops
02 · Resolve — follow in order
- 1
Power off and unplug the printer.
- 2
Remove all paper from both the rear tray and the cassette.
- 3
Shine a light into the paper path and remove any scrap, staple, or packing tape left from setup.
- 4
Check the cassette is pushed fully home and the paper guides touch the stack without squeezing it.
- 5
Plug in, power on, and print one page.
Pro tip
New printers ship with orange tape inside the paper path. If yours is new, look for it before anything else.
