Get the best out of a SELPHY photo printer
SELPHY uses paper and a ribbon cassette as a matched set — most problems come from mixing them.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Ribbon error
- Paper jams part way
- Colour bands across the photo
02 · Resolve — follow in order

Check the paper and the ink cassette are the same set (for example both KP-108IN).

Load paper glossy side up, no more than 18 sheets, and close the tray cover.

Leave at least 10 cm of clear space behind the printer — the paper passes in and out several times per print.

Never pull the paper while it is moving; each pass lays down one colour.

If the ribbon is slack, take the cassette out and turn the spool gently to tension it.
Pro tip
Handle prints by the edges for a minute — the finish coat needs a moment to set.
