Make your Canon the default printer
Jobs quietly going to a PDF writer or an old printer is a default-printer problem.
01 · Identify — does this match what you see?
- Print dialog picks the wrong device
- Files save as PDF instead of printing
02 · Resolve — follow in order

On Windows, open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.

Turn off “Let Windows manage my default printer”.

Click your Canon and choose Set as default.

On a Mac, open System Settings → Printers & Scanners and pick your Canon under Default printer.

Remove old or duplicate printer entries so they cannot be picked by mistake.
Pro tip
Duplicate entries with (Copy 1) in the name usually mean the printer was added twice — keep one.
